vBrooklyn: A video-festival about Brooklyn as a place and video as an artform vBrooklyn took place on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at Galapagos Art Space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn Read about vBrooklyn 2007 and check back for information about our upcoming DVD The vBrooklyn video-festival documents Brooklyn, NY's, evolving cityscape through contemporary video-art. The festival presents 20 of NYC's most innovative and entertaining video-artists through live video-performances and screenings. Brooklyn's urban development is hitting critical-mass -- vBrooklyn asked video-artists to tape the borough before it permanently transforms, helping to build a dynamic historic record through personal interpretation and literal documentation. The real-time video manipulations and screened-pieces range from ambient and abstract studies to dynamic and figurative examinations. Subjects include the Gowanus Canal, the downfall of Greenpoint buildings, Brooklyn's downtown waterfront, Floyd Bennett Field, landmark bridges, and other elements defining Brooklyn as a place.
